Andy Dowsett
PTR European Advisor

Andy has educated over 3000 coaches over his career which has spanned three decades. As well as authoring books on tennis, Andy has lectured around the world on his mini-tennis systems, educating coaches, and now parents, on how to bring the best out of players and keep them in the game.

As a coach, educator and writer Andy is a trusted and reliable source in the world of tennis, and is one of very few tennis coaches to have gained his PTR Level 5 Master of Tennis Performance in 2017

Dr Anne Pankhurst
Education Consultant

Anne is the Education Consultant for PTR.  Anne is also a consultant to several tennis academies and has also served as Coach Education Director for The LTA where she had full responsibility for developing all Coach Education and Teacher Education courses and Tutor Training, Coach Development and Coach Licensing.

Anne also presents at numerous tennis and sports conventions and symposia around the world. She is in the process of completing her PhD, studying how the relationships between coaches, parents and the system impact the development of young tennis players.

Phil Vivian
International Tutor and Tester

Phil is a PTR and LTA level 4 coaching professional with over 40 year's experience, teaching at clubs around the UK. He is currently Head Coach to the Lee Valley Hockey and Tennis Centre at the Olympic Park in London, alongside his duties as Chief Assessor for the PTR.

Phil was awarded the PTR International Tester of the Year 2012/13 and the PTR UK Pro of the Year 1998.  He also holds the United States Tennis Association Sports Science Degree (USTA).

Emma Neppl
Head of Marketing and Communications

Emma has been working in marketing and communications for over 15 years and for the last few years has specialised in the sports, fitness and health industries. 

She is a marketing generalist; one day she can be found creating websites, the next planning an event or creating graphics for posters or social media.

Emma has BSc (Hons) in Systems and a Post Graduate Diploma in Communications Management. More recently, Emma passed her PTR 10u qualification to better understand the coaches she works so often with.

Dave Mountford
National Tutor and Tester

David has been a PTR Member and coach since 2002. Since then he has worked in various roles from head coach at clubs in Warwickshire and Oxfordshire to a head of performance role in Buckinghamshire at the Bucks indoor tennis centre. He is currently working alongside Phil Vivian at the 2017 PTR GB Facility of the Year, Lee Valley Hockey and Tennis Centre as well as being a national clinician and tester for PTR GB.

David currently holds a PTR 5A MAP rating and was awarded the PTR GB Pro of the Year in 2017. He was one of five tennis coaches to graduate from the PTR Master of tennis programme in 2017 to become a Level 5 Master of Tennis in Performance as well as already being an LTA Level 4 senior club coach.

Tom Therrien
National Tutor and Tester

Tom joined the PTR in 1996 having graduated from Manchester Metropolitan University with a BSc sport science degree. Tom has over 20 yrs experience within a wide range of roles from teaching beginners to training national competitors both in the UK and abroad, being recognised as PTR ‘Pro of the year’ in 2005 and achieving the ‘coaching excellence award’ from Tennis Australia in 2013 during a 2 year spell in Western Australia. Tom recently returned to University to complete a postgraduate certificate in ‘Leadership and Management’ to support his Role as Tennis Director at Lansdown Club in Bath, recognised as PTR venue of the year in 2018.
